Governikus is announcing the end of life for the products listed below. Software maintenance and software updates are no longer available. Hardware or software errors can be corrected by migrating to the successor product. Customers with an extended warranty contract will continue to receive support within the terms of the contract and for the duration of the contract.

Governikus SC
EoL Software maintenance for the components of Governikus SC in version 3.23.x is June 30, 2022. After this date, there will also be no more operational support/service. Software maintenance and operational support/service for the new services from DATA Deneb (Sign Service, etc.) and DATA Varuna (Certificate Validation Server, Validation Service, etc.) already delivered in version GSC 3.23.x have already been discontinued for the provision of Suite 1.0.0.
SAFE compliant support in Governikus SC will no longer exist with the delivery of ID Panstar. Software maintenance and operational support/service will still be provided until the EoL of Governikus SC 3.23.x.
Extension of EoL policy for SC 3.23.x until 31.10.2022 for individual scenarios
General conditions must be observed.
Further extension of the EoL policy for SC 3.23.x until 31.03.2023 for Governikus Autent (eID server) in the context of online ID or eIDAS-notified eID systems.
Governikus Suite with DATA Deneb, DATA Varuna, COM Tauri, COM Despina
The maintenance of the products delivered with the Governikus Suite and the Base Services is basically done as follows:
- Major releases (x.0.0): Major releases are maintained for 2 years (maintenance of functionality, minor improvements).
In the first year, support is provided in the form of software maintenance (delivery of hotfixes or workarounds, patches and minor releases) and services for ongoing operations.
In the second year, support is provided exclusively in the form of operational support/services (informative support, error analysis and recommendations, delivery of configurations).
Note: Code changes within the scope of software maintenance can only be made as long as: legal framework conditions, specifications or standards do not require massive changes that are only possible in newer systems with reasonable effort, the software used is supported by third-party manufacturers or procedures for proof of conformity, evaluation or confirmation are valid. - Minor releases (0.x.0): Minor releases do not extend the software maintenance or operational support of the current major release.
- Bug fixes (0.0.x): Bug fixes do not extend the software maintenance or operational support of the current major release.

Governikus ID Panstar / Governikus Autent

Governikus Signer/Boreum, GC/Vibilia, Verif.Service/Pavonis
The maintenance of the software is basically carried out as follows: Additions of new functionalities as well as the maintenance of functionality and the elimination of errors are always based on the last published release status. An adjustment of previous releases does not take place.
The maintenance of functionality as well as the elimination of usage-impeding errors always takes place for the last major version (x.0.0) or minor version (y.x.0). The delivery of hotfixes or workarounds, patches and updates is based on the latest published patch (y.y.x) or minor version (y.y.x). Governikus KG ensures that patches are downward compatible.

As a prerequisite for the maintenance of the software, code changes can only be made as long as legal framework conditions, specifications or standards do not require massive changes, which are only possible with reasonable effort in newer systems, and only as long as the software used is supported by third-party manufacturers, or as long as procedures for proof of conformity, evaluation and confirmation are valid.
