Seit 2017 ist Governikus MultiMessenger ein Produkt des IT-Planungsrates. Stand Januar 2024 sind der Bund sowie elf Bundesländer der Anwendung Governikus MultiMessenger beigetreten, die damit auch deren Kommunen zur Nutzung zur Verfügung steht.
