A. General data protection information

The protection of your personal data has a high priority for Governikus KG. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) applies to Governikus KG.

We inform you about which personal data we collect during your visit to the website www.governikus.de and which personal data we collect from you in connection with contacting us during the application process as well as during video conferences, how these are used and which design options you have in this regard.

B. Data collection and storage by the website www.governikus.de
  1. Data acquisition and storage
    When accessing the website www.governikus.de information is automatically sent to the server of our website by the browser used on your end device. This data is stored exclusively for statistical and backup purposes. Only the IP address of the Internet service provider, the date and time of access and the specific destination address are recorded for a limited period of time.
    We process the aforementioned data for the following purposes:

    • Ensuring a smooth connection of the website,
    • Ensuring a comfortable use of our website,
    • Evaluation of system security and stability, and
    • for other administrative purposes

    The processing of the data is based on Art. 6 of the DSGVO (Data Protection Regulation). In no case do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.

  2. Contacting us
    If you have registered to receive our newsletter, our press releases or to receive customer information, it is necessary to provide your first and last name and a valid e-mail address. Express consent is required to receive the above-mentioned information so that we can send you the requested information. Newsletter2Go from
    Sendinblue GmbH / Brevo is used as the newsletter software. Your data will be transmitted to Sendinblue GmbH / Brevo. Sendinblue / Brevo is prohibited from selling your data and using it for purposes other than sending newsletters. Sendinblue / Brevo is a German, certified provider that has been selected in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Federal Data Protection Act.   3. Disclosure of personal data to third parties
    We do not transfer your personal data to third parties for purposes other than those listed below.We only share your personal data with third parties if:

    • you have given your express consent, disclosure is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in the non-disclosure of your data,
    • in the event that a legal obligation exists for the disclosure as well as disclosure of personal data to third parties

    Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed below.
    We will only disclose your personal data to third parties if

    • this is legally permissible and necessary for the processing of contractual relationships with you.
  4. Cookies
    Cookies are used on the pages of Governikus KG, which are valid for the duration of the visit to the website. Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. However, the storage of cookies can be deactivated or the browser can be set so that cookies are only stored for the duration of the respective connection to the Internet. However, completely deactivating cookies may mean that you cannot use all the functions of our website.

  5. Analysis tools
    We use Matomo, an open source software for web analysis, for statistical evaluation of user access. Matomo uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of our website is stored on our server in Germany. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and before it is stored. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.
  6. YouTube
    We use embedded YouTube videos in extended data protection mode. YouTube is a service of Google Inc, Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. YouTube provides this extended data protection mode and thus ensures that YouTube does not store any cookies with personal data on your computer. As soon as you start the playback of an embedded video by clicking on it, YouTube only saves cookies on your computer through the extended data protection mode, which do not contain any personally identifiable data. These cookies can be prevented by appropriate browser settings and extensions (source: YouTube "Enabling enhanced privacy mode for embedded videos").

  7. Data subject rights
    You have the right:

    • Request information about your personal data processed by us,
    • immediately demand the correction of incorrect data or the completion of stored data,
    • demand the deletion of the stored personal data,
    • to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data, insofar as the correctness of the data is disputed by you, the processing is unlawful, but you object to its deletion and we no longer require the data, but you need it for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims.
    • revoke your consent once given to us at any time,
    • complain to a supervisory authority.
  8. Right of objection
    If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests, you have the right to object to the processing of your data. If you wish to exercise your right of revocation or objection, simply send an e-mail to

  9. Data security
    Within the website visit, we use the widespread SSL procedure in connection with the highest encryption level supported by your browser. As a rule, this is 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can see whether an individual page of our website is transmitted encrypted by the closed display of the lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.
  10. Complaints
    In the event of complaints, you can contact the competent supervisory authority of the Union or the member states at any time. The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, Dr. Imke Sommer, is responsible for our company.
  11. Actuality and change of this privacy policy
    This data protection declaration is currently valid and has the status July 2021. Due to the further development of our website and offers on it or due to changed legal or official requirements, it may become necessary to change this data protection declaration. C. Privacy Policy for the handling of data from applications

In addition to the statements contained in this declaration, the following rules apply to the handling of personal data that Governikus GmbH & Co. KG receives in the context of applications for employment, the following rules apply:

If you apply to us, your personal data will be processed for the purpose of the employment relationship, insofar as this is necessary for the decision on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for data processing is found in Article 6 (1) of the Basic Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and Section 6 of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

If your application contains special categories of personal data (e.g. information on marital status that may provide information about your sex life or sexual orientation; information on your health; a photo that allows conclusions to be drawn about your ethnic origin and, if applicable, your eyesight and/or religion; or similarly sensitive data within the meaning of Art. 9 of the GDPR), we may only process your data if you declare your consent. To do so, please fill out the form "Additional declaration for special categories of data" and submit it to us. The provision of this data is voluntary and is not required for the application process.

The decision on the establishment of an employment relationship is the responsibility of the respective teams at Governikus KG in accordance with the agile processes. Against this background, we would like to point out that your data may come to the attention of a larger group of people. With your application, you have the option of only submitting data on your professional qualifications, experience and knowledge, as well as references and certificates and, if applicable, general resume data.

For our applicant management, we use the e-recruiting system onlyfy by Xing, which is operated by the company New Work SE. All personal data transmitted by you is stored in this system. The company New Work SE acts as a processor within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 8 DSGVO. Onlyfy by Xing processes and uses the collected personal data to provide the onlyfy services, for the purpose of registration on the companies' websites and for the purpose of exchanging information between applicants and companies. Your data will be processed exclusively in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations and will not be passed on to third parties by us or by the company New Work SE.

The data you provide will be stored by us for up to 6 months after rejection. Only if you give us written consent, we store your data beyond this time.

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data. We generally provide copies of data in electronic form, unless you have specified otherwise. The first copy is free of charge; a reasonable fee may be charged for additional copies. The provision is subject to the rights and freedoms of other persons who may be affected by the transmission of the data copy.

Pursuant to Art. 20 DSGVO, you have the right - subject to the following provisions - to demand the return of the data relating to you in a standard electronic, machine-readable data format. The right to data transfer includes the right to transfer the data to another controller; upon request, we will therefore - as far as technically possible - transfer data directly to a controller named by you or yet to be named. The right to data transmission only exists for data provided by you and requires that the processing is based on consent or for the performance of a contract and is carried out with the help of automated processes. The right to data transfer according to Art. 20 DSGVO does not affect the right to data deletion according to Art. 17 DSGVO. The data transfer is subject to the rights and freedoms of other persons whose rights may be affected by the data transfer.

In all other respects, the data subject rights set forth in B.7 shall apply.

The right of appeal mentioned under B.10 shall also apply.

D. Privacy Policy ZOOM Video Conference
  1. Data transmission
    Governikus KG uses an on-premises solution for holding video conferences with ZOOM. Here, the entire data stream during the meeting is routed through Governikus KG's data center. In principle, Zoom provides for data to be transferred to the USA. This feature has been overridden for Governikus KG due to the contract with the manufacturer. Only data centers in Germany and alternatively in the Netherlands are used for the collected data.
    As a result, no personal data that is collected, processed and stored during registration or participation in a video conference with Governikus KG is transmitted to the USA.
    Governikus KG points out as a precaution that the call of a domain from Zoom or a short cross connection to the USA can occur. This cannot be avoided.
  2. Participation
    Participation in the video conference is possible via the provided link, to join it is enough to enter your name. During the meeting, the following metadata will be recorded: IP address, operating system, device, connection quality (including CPU usage and bandwidth), location, and audio and video devices.
  3. Recording a video conference
    In principle, it is possible for video conferences to be recorded. However, these are only recorded locally. Recording in a cloud is deactivated. As far as Governikus KG or its representative:in wants to start a recording via Zoom, you will be informed that the conference is being recorded. It is then possible to leave the conference.
  4. Disclosure of personal data to third parties
    The regulations listed under B.3 apply.
  5. Data subject rights
    The data subject rights mentioned under B.7 apply. The right of complaint mentioned under B.10 also applies.
  6. Right of objection
    If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests, you have the right to object to the processing of your data. If you wish to exercise your right of revocation or objection, simply send an e-mail to datenschutz@governikus.de. Sections B.9, B.10 and B.12 apply accordingly.
E. Privacy Policy Online Whiteboard

Governikus KG uses the ConceptBoard software to support ZOOM meetings. This is software that is used as a digital whiteboard. The ConceptBoard software used is hosted in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center. The following personal data is collected and processed during use:

  • Personal master and contact data e.g. name (plain name), e-mail, contact details, profile picture (voluntary)
  • Usage behavior data (e.g. change history of content of individual users)
  • Identification and authentication data (e.g., IP address, user ID, session cookie, login token).
  • Content data on the interactive workspaces ("boards"), these may also contain personal data depending on use

The collected data is used by the provider for the following purposes: to operate the services, to improve the services, for anonymous statistics and for communication with the users.

A board is deleted after a session, so that the content data, which may contain personal data, is also deleted.

The regulations from B.7, B.8, B.10 and B.12 apply accordingly.
