The IT Planning Council is the central political steering body for the digitalization of public administration in Germany. Its task is to coordinate cooperation between the (German) Federal Government and the federal states on information technology issues and to ensure the strategic management of e-government projects.
The IT Planning Council helps to digitize administrative processes, some of which are still paper-based, and thus make administration more efficient. By steering e-government projects, it promotes the automation of processes, which means that citizens and companies can interact with the authorities more quickly and in a more user-friendly way.
These digital solutions create the basis for a modern administration that not only increases efficiency, but also improves service for society and the economy.
IT products such as the Governikus applications and the Anwendung Governikus MultiMessenger application are among the central tools that contribute to these plans. These products from the IT Planning Council are already regularly used, operated and continuously developed in the administration in order to drive digital change in the administration.
This means that not only the administrations themselves, but also citizens and companies benefit from a modern, service-oriented administration.
