Digital administration, shaping the future together

On November 7 and 8, 2017, the Governikus Annual Conference will take place at the dbb forum Berlin. At the event under the motto "Digital administration - shaping the future together", which will open with a keynote speech by Federal CIO Klaus Vitt, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of the Interior, participants can expect two days of panel discussions, best-practice presentations, workshops and an accompanying exhibition.
"After the election is before the new government program" is the title of the panel discussion, which will feature guests Dr. Konstantin von Notz (MP, Digital Agenda Committee), Federal CIO Klaus Vitt, NRW CIO Hartmut Beuß and Franz-Reinhard Habbel (DStGB) from across administrative levels as well as from a political perspective. "For us as an e-government solution provider, government programs and their implementation play an important role. Our two IT Planning Council applications - Governikus and GMM (Governikus MultiMessenger) - provide important basic components for the implementation of digitalization projects, which need to be further developed under current strategies and laws. We are therefore very pleased about the appointment and look forward to what is sure to be an exciting round," says Governikus Managing Director Dr. Stephan Klein.
The future of eGovernment
The federal government's IT consolidation, the IT Planning Council's e-invoicing project, new challenges relating to the eIDAS Regulation and in the area of e-justice, the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the Online Access Act are just some of the topics that will be discussed and debated at the event. Developments relating to electronic identities and service accounts will play just as important a role as signatures/seals etc. In parallel to the panel discussions, Governikus partners will provide information on joint best practice approaches and solutions, and Governikus experts will be available in open space workshops to discuss topics requested by participants.

"Encryption is the basis for the protection of personal data - and this is precisely the fundamental claim of all our developments. Digital administration is inconceivable without encryption mechanisms. We talk to BSI Vice President Dr. Gerhard Schabhüser, NRW CIO Hartmut Beuß, Markus Schmall (Telekom) as the current spokesperson for the encryption focus group of the Digital Summit and Oliver Schliebs from Deutsche Post about Germany's position as an encryption location outside of e-government."
