IKS GmbH was founded in 1998 as a transfer institute to make the special know-how of the FernUniversität in Hagen available for corporate applications: Use of IT technology for training and continuing education as well as e-government.
IKS GmbH's specific background of experience in e-government is based in particular on the major project "Virtual City Hall Hagen", a flagship project of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia on municipal e-government.
