Malte Spitz has been a member of the NCCR since 2022. He is co-founder and Secretary General of the Society for Freedom Rights (GFF), which works to strengthen fundamental and human rights through legal interventions. He was a member of the party council of Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen from 2013 to 2022. Prior to that, he was a member of the full-time six-member federal executive committee of Bündnis 90/Die Grünen for seven years. In the 2021 coalition negotiations, he chaired the "Digital Innovations and Digital Infrastructure" working group. As a freelance author, he regularly gives talks on digital policy, data protection and digital transformation and publishes guest articles in international media. In 2014, his book "What are you doing with my data?" was published, and in 2017 the book "Data - The Oil of the 21st Century? Sustainability in the Digital Age." From 2003 to 2006, he was a member of the Federal Executive Board and political director of the Federal Green Youth Association. In the NKR, he is the rapporteur for the topic of "Digital administration and digitally suitable law" as well as for the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ).
