Marian Margraf is Professor of Information Security at Freie Universität Berlin and Head of Department at Fraunhofer Institute AISEC. He has more than 15 years of experience in the field of information security. Initially from 2003 to 2008 as a cryptologist at the German Federal Office for Information Security, where he helped develop the cryptographic protocols for electronic passports and identity cards. In 2008, he moved to the Federal Ministry of the Interior and worked on information security strategies as a government director. He has been a professor since 2013. His research focus is cryptology, in particular quantum computer resistant methods and quantum cryptanalysis.
