Jörn Riedel, born in 1959, holds a degree in sociology. From 1990 to 1992, he was project manager in major projects of the Hamburg Interior Authority, and from 1992 he headed the central ICT department of the Hamburg Interior Authority. From 1997 to 2008, Riedel was head of the IT control department of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Since 2008, he has held the office of CIO of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
